Christopher Meadows has been an artist, illustrator and art educator for most of his life. For over 35 years he has been actively involved in creating and promoting Visual Art within the community. After training at The University of South Australia as an Art and Design teacher, he continued to work for many years in local schools in both the country and metropolitan areas. In more recent years he extended his experience as a Visual Arts educator by working overseas in both France and Japan.
As his career progressed, he maintained a parallel career as an artist, illustrator and graphic designer. This saw him working in a myriad of styles and creative approaches for a wide range of clients including publishers such as Macmillan, Longman Cheshire and Penguin books.
Underlining his work as an educator and illustrator, he has maintained his passion for painting and drawing. The use of traditional mediums, combined with figurative techniques has continued to provide a strong foundation for everything he creates. Landscapes, nature, the human form and the impermanent artifacts of mankind remain a constant inspiration that continues to be explored.
For Chris, painting remains the ultimate creative challenge … an exciting, unpredictable and totally individual artistic journey.
