Objects And Window Iv by Nancy Collantine

ARTIST NOTES: This mixed media/collaged artwork is one of a series of studies that explores the light and how it affects objects that are placed in the window. My treatment of these objects, or rather vessels, which are dear to me because they hold memory; together with the light and the sky, illustrate my feelings about coming home.

ARTIST BIO

I am a mixed media artist that creates compositions using paint, collage and colour to give context and feeling to drawn elements.   These can be abstract structures from urban and natural environments as well as figurative elements drawn from life.

I have recently returned to the UK after living in Australia, which was where my full-time studio practice began.  I have a Foundation in Fine Art and I have worked in the UK creative industry for more than 20 years, specialising in arts and culture. I continue to explore new mediums and techniques and in 2018 have enrolled onto a part-time printmaking course at Hotbed Press in Salford, UK.

Australian artists such as Emily Kame Kngwarreye, Brett Whiteley and Ronnie Cay have been very much a part of my inspiration and study whilst living in Queensland.

December 2017 selected for the Victor Harbour Art Show, SA

December 2017 entered the Ashurt Emerging Artist Prize, UK
